3. When is the best time to go to Coron?
One may enjoy Coron’s sights the whole year round even during the rainy months however if the traveler is advised not to go during a typhoon.

4. Is it better to go by boat or by plane? What time does the boat/plane leave? How long is the trip?
It really depends on the person. Some prefer the plane because it is only an hour of flying time while others prefer the thrill of a Superferry boat trip.

The Superferry departs from Pier 15, Manila South Harbor every Friday evening on or about 7:00PM. The voyage takes approximately 11.5 hours so ETA Coron pier is 6:30 AM of Saturday. Two airlines fly to Coron at the moment, namely South East Asia Airlines or Seair and Asian Spirit. Both have daily flights. For more info on their flight schedules, please log on to www.flyseair.com or www.asianspirit.com

5. Where do I buy tickets?

6. How far is the airport/pier from Darayonan Lodge?
Both Seair and Asian Spirit land at the Francisco Reyes airport in Busuanga. It is a 45 minute land trip to Darayonan Lodge which is located in Coron town.

The Superferry docks at the Coron pier located in Bgy. Tagumpay which is 7 minutes by land transport.

7. Is Darayonan located on the beach? How far is the nearest beach?
Darayonan is not located on the beach. In fact no town based tourist inn or lodge is located on the beach. Darayonan is located in a residential part of Coron town. The nearest beach is on an island 20 minutes away by motorized banca. If the guest requires “beach on demand” we suggest that he/she go to one of the beach resorts instead.

8. Are there good dive sites in the Coron area? Can you arrange for my dive trip? How much?
There are plenty of dive sites in the area – reefs and wrecks. We can arrange your dive trips. As of May 2006, it costs approximately P2,500/person. This includes two dives, equipment, dive boat, and lunch. (Note” prices may change without prior notice.

9. I am not a diver and I am not familiar with the Coron area. What is the best way for me to enjoy Coron?

10. What clothes and footwear should I bring?
Cool and comfortable clothing. Shorts, t-shirts, jeans are okay. Rubber sandals and slippers, rubber shoes, beach shoes are ideal footwear. You may also want to bring a cap or a hat. Sunglasses are strongly recommended.

If you are taking the Superferry, you my want to bring a sweater or jacket because it gets cold during the night.

11. Do I need to bring towels?
Darayonan Lodge will provide you with a bath towel. Beach towels are also available but with a minimal rental fee of P10.00/day

12. How about snorkels, goggles, life vests?
There are snorkels and fins for rent but they may not always be available hence guests are advised to bring their own goggles and snorkels especially during peak season. Life vests are normally part of the equipment of the banca however if you wish to bring your own, you may do so.

Yes, but at much higher prices.

14. Do I need to have anti-malaria shots or medications?
It is really up to you. There has never been a widespread malaria outbreak Coron and the anti-malaria campaign is quite strong. However, if you feel safer or if your doctor recommends it, we suggest you take whatever precaution you see fit.

We do strongly recommend that you bring an insect or mosquito repellant.

15. Is there a cellphone signal in Coron?
Yes to Globe, Touch Mobile, Smart and Talk n Text subscribers. Sun cellular does not have a signal yet.

Yes there is a local cable TV company. It does not have that many channels though.

19.1 Any animal that may be a carrier of foot and mouth disease. Palawan is one of two provinces in the Philippines that remain FMD free.
19.2 Any pork or beef or processed product such as bacon or longganisa.
19.3 Certain plants that are not allowed by the Bureau of Plant Industry

20. Is there an ATM Machine in Coron?
The only bank in Coron is the Landbank and yes they do have an atm machine.

21. Are credit cards accepted in Coron?
Major credit cards are accepted in a few selected establishments. Our advice to guests is to bring cash. For groups, if you don’t want to bring cash, you may pay in Manila before your trip.

Yes but the exchange rate is lower as compared to Manila.

23. From Coron, can I go to any other destination aside from Manila?
Seair flies to Puerto Princessa City and El Nido three times a week and to Boracay once a week. The Superferry goes to and from Puerto Princessa once a week.
